CALE YARBOROUGH 1968 MERCURY CYCLONE 1/24 UNIVERSITY OF RACING. A tough, no-nonsense competitor - Cale Yarborough earned the respect of both fand and fellow drivers during his championship careet. Driving the Wood Brothers Mercury Cyclone, Cale dominated the competition during the 1968 season with six wins and twelve top-10 finishes.

In only 20 starts behind the wheel of the famous red and white #21 Wood Brothers car that year, Yarborough took the checked flag at some of the most prestigous events - including the Daytona 500, Atlanta 500, Virginia 500, Firecracker 400 and Southers 500. On February 25, 1968, Cale won the 1968 Daytona 500 driving this Wood Brothers #21 Cyclone. He claimed the victory over LeeRoy Yarborough by less than a second.

This win was his first victory of the season and brought the Wood Brothers their second Daytona win. The memory of this incredible victory will live on with the sixth release in the University of Racing Legends series of diecast cars.
