Genuine BMW Daytona Carbon Dial Sport Design Chronograph!!! Discontinued model from the year 2000. Ultra rare model, yet along in this condition: top condition considering it's age and with a brand new genuine leather band that has a racing design to match the dial, no box or papers for it. Rare case design with screw-on crown and pushers. Commemorative time piece for the 2000 Grand Prix Formula One motor race held on July 30, 2000 at the Hockenheimring near Hockenheim, Germany.

It was the eleventh race of the 2000 Formula One season. The race was the 62nd German Grand Prix and the 24th to be held at Hockenheim.

The race was held over 45 laps of the 6.8-kilometre circuit for a total race distance of 307 kilometers!!! The real carbon fiber dial of this watch demonstrates technology taken directly from the racetrack: carbon is a key technology in the future of lightweight engineering. A resin-coated carbon weave, made of microscopic carbon fibers, is half the weight of steel. The solid stainless steel case with a Tachymeter scale engraved on the top bezel, screw-on crown & pushers and a thick mineral crystal, will safeguard your precious timepiece for many years to come.

A black carbon fiber dial with three white ringed sub-dial counters in the classic configuration, white printed markers for the minutes, applied stainless steel indices and 12 o'clock Arabic numeral for the hours. BMW Motorsport flag and logotype and the number 1. At 12 o'clock and date in window between 4 and 5 o'clock, will flatter any wrist with it's sport design. The red hand for the chronograph's function, underlines the sporty appeal.

Luminous hour indices and hour and minute hands. The screw-on stainless steel back, makes the watch water resistant to 5 ATM. The watch is secured on your wrist with a black genuine leather band that has a perforated rally racing design and red top stitching to match the dial and closes with a stainless steel buckle.

High quality Japan Made analog quartz movement. Type of quartz : tuning fork type quartz crystal. Battery life: approximately 3 years. Battery: silver oxide SR927W or equivalent. Date at 3 o'clock.

A never-ending source of misunderstandings often caused by the irresponsible advertising of certain competitors, who are usually the ones to refuse any responsibility when damage by water occurs. Here are the facts in plain English: 1.

Every known brand submits the watch to a 2-phase test in a chamber, where it has to withstand to pressure for the minimum length of time required by industrial standards. It may seem a paradox, but low pressure-resistance, say at 0.5 bar equivalent to 50 cm depth is more critical to achieve, because increasing pressure tends to compress the seals, thereby increasing the resistance; the second phase test conducted at 3 bar 30 m. Because of a solid case-construction, the known brands watches will resist to 10 bar 100 m.

HOWEVER: The water resistance of a wristwatch is constantly challenged by mechanical wear caused by bumps, shocks etc. Rapid changes in temperature, caustic acids, chemicals, etc. And can therefore not be guaranteed as a permanent condition.
